I'm Wendi. My guess is that you've heard my name through countless folks that I've created art for over the years, or you met me at Studio 6 Art Gallery, or even met me through teaching classes at your local library. To be honest, I've jumped from endeavor to endeavor with hopes of finding a life-long artistic niche. And I've met so many of you along the way. With the help of mentors,friends and other professional artists, I've recently decided to dig deep and find the thing that fuels me... teaching!

I grew up with limited resources in a low-income household and not having a lot of artistic materials, fueled my creativity. Once my parents recognized my love for Art, they encouraged me endlessly and my shyness transformed into confidence.

My love for charcoal portraits began to develop around the age of 19 and over the last 20 years, it's only gotten stronger!

In 2022 I traveled to Germany to study under my favorite world-renowned portrait artist and it inspired me to consider teaching, myself.
